G36 Spring upgradeOK I'm considering doing an upgrade on my G36c, currently averaging 275-280 fps and i want to get it up towards 328 fps (not over).
I was considering replacing the spring, and Bushes myself. However i have just found the following Hurricane M90 Tune Up Kit for G36.
This kit includes:
Cylinder
Cylinder Head
Nozzle
Piston Head
Bearing Spring guide
Oiless Bushes
M90 Spring
This is available for 35 quid. Is it worth me getting this or should I stick with my original plan of just spring and brushes?
Also please feel free to offer any related advise.

Okey doke, to avoid you wasting any money, here are the recommended upgrades you should consider for your and indeed any AEG gun:
M90 Spring, Steel Bushes (original are plastic), Steel Gear Set... perhaps steel spring guide, but not essential.
The reason is as follows, cylinders in an AEG are already steel, you don't need to change this, the piston head and nozzle work fine as they are, and won't be put under too much stress with a M90 upgrade. You may want to consider steel gears as the ones in a Marui AEG are cast metal, 'monkey metal' alloy as they call it, they work ok under the stresses of the original parts, but if you upgrade the spring, the teeth can fail, causing a lot of damage. I wouldn't waste your money on the other parts you listed, just the spring, bushes and steel gears are recommended. Also you must consider that upgrading your spring will have 2 side effects, the rate of fire will drop off slightly (nothing too noticable), and your battery life will shorten slightly, which is why I had to swap out the battery on the M14, something I've NEVER had to do with a standard AEG. (running a 2000mah Nicad).
Hope that helps.

Ok thanks. Think for starters i will go with the M90 Spring and Steel Bushes.
Can always do the gears at a later date.

As your AEG is slightly older... and you have no idea how many thousands of rounds have been through it... I would suggest gears at the same time! But, up to you!

Well looks like this upgrade is now on hold, had to buy some new lenses for my work and shooting glasses today, and just purchased a new red dot. So will wait until after the new year.
However may take your advise dEFCON and do the gears at the same time then. As you say I'm not sure of the condition of these anyway.
In preparation, the guides i have do not say much about shimming and nothing about greasing the gears. Does anyone know of any good guides for this?

If u do not fully understand tha modifcations that u are performing,
Might I sugest that for a mere £35 (plus p&p), Wolf Armouries could carry out tha work for u, and it comes with a warranty,
Im sure many other uk dealers have a similar service, but thats tha first one to come into my head, actually, fire support do upgrades dont they? Hope that helps.

Only way of learing is to do it yourself.
OK its a risky approach, and one i would not just simply dive into, which is why I'm asking the questions now and not in several weeks time with my gun in bits in front of me
Believe me I take a serious approach with things like this. Kinda like i did when i 1st modded my xbox years ago, did lots of reading etc before i even whipped off the cover.
Advantage is once i know how to do it, i will be able to perform regular maintenance which can prolong the life of my AEG.
I could as you said get a 3rd party like fire-support to do it, and this was actually my 1st thought, however it would be very expensive to do this for each upgrade unless i was to get it all done in one go.
As for shimming yes i have a good idea how this is done, but to be one the safe side i would prefer to read more on it.
I have not found anything other than guides saying use grease on the gears but noting saying how much to apply and where to apply the grease.
I have a month before i do the upgrade(s) so any pointers / links help is appreciated.

Have you found the shimming stuff? If so can you post the link, and we can make a sticky post for it... likewise, any upgrade tips can go in its own forum? should help people out in future...
With the grease, just a little bit on the axles, and a little bit on the teeth where they mesh, it'll get worked around inside. Don't put too much on the piston head as it can cause it to slow down like a damper effect.

Unfortunately no links, all in a pdf file which is not freely distributable. Even this is not great, but i get the idea of it.
I'm still looking for something better, if found i will post the links.
As for the greasing, that's pretty much what i thought, thanks.

Just found some guides here, not sure how good they are as I don't have time to read them until tonight.
